It May Come True

Have you ever wondered about a universe where everything you think of comes true in front of your eyes? I am firmly convinced you did at least once, so here is a story of a little girl with big dreams.

Her name is Mia. A quiet, not too social person, no one ever knew what she wanted, how she felt. She was dreaming all day long, therefore, her teachers kept on saying that there was no chance of her succeeding in life. Not even her parents knew her like they were close to each other as a family, even though Mia loved them immensely.

Mia had multiple diaries, in which she wrote stories of her imagination daily. It was her friend, to whom she told every single one of her dreams. For her 14th birthday, Mia received an aged, around 50-year-old, homemade diary from her parents in impeccable condition, which they got from a strange, old lady, as the best thing that came to their mind was that Mia liked to write into her diary, so she would most likely be happy if they bought her a new one, which she could fill.

Mia was grateful and started to write in it. Just like how she did with the other ones, she treated it like a new friend, who needs her to introduce herself to in order for the two to become close friends to whom she can tell anything she wants to. The days passed, the pages filled, when Mia started writing about her dream of becoming a tour guide, so she can show every inquiring tourist her undoubtedly advanced knowledge of cities, which she has acquired throughout the years as a hobby.

As soon as she put the period at the end of the sentence, a bright, white light emanated from the book, making her blind for a split second. When she regained her vision, she was not in her room anymore. She was on a tour bus with a microphone in her hand, with a bunch of people showing genuine interest in what she was telling about London. She was confused, but at the same time happy for her success.

Suddenly, a headache struck her. That was the moment when Mia started to remember every memory, all the way back to the day she wrote that sentence in her diary, however, she was aware that she had not experienced them in person. In her new but old memories, she saw and endeavoring, confident and independent girl chasing her dreams and not giving up even if they did not come true, knowing that was a life lesson.

At that moment, she knew that one should never let others demotivate them just because they did not see the whole picture, and suddenly she thought to herself: “If only I had been there to do it myself!”, because it did not feel the same if she simply received what she didn’t do and didn’t work hard for. So, on that day she decided that she would always live with the opportunity and fight for her goals.
